…thinking about Star Wars along with other things.

I think I’m a bit “over-primed” now. I’ve been pacing a lot for the last two days and getting nothing done.

What do I do?

I don’t know your specifics but if you’re overthinking I think you need to take a step back and change your mind for a few days. Drop everything that’s occupying your mind and do something else, whether it’s work, a hobby, or some mindless entertainment. Everything will still be here tomorrow just as you left it.

I get restless and irritated when I pour labour in the same thing for a few days and can’t see the end of it, and I suppose it’s similar in some ways.

And remember: one thing at a time. Everything will still be here, it can wait.

also fyi we also have !comradelyrants@lemmygrad.ml if you want!

To be clear, I’m not literally thinking of nothing but Star Wars for the past two or so days; just that I did that (along with thinking about other things) for 3 hours at one point today.

this might seem like weird advice but it can be really helpful: don’t fight against yourself. if you need to move, move. pacing can be dizzying so if you can go on a walk that might be better. if you cant get anything done, that’s okay. don’t try to work on anything “productive” but instead do what you’re capable of doing in the moment. walk or colour or ride a bicycle or chat with someone or play a game or watch tv. sometimes it helps to do more than one thing at once, like walk and talk on the phone.
