    I commented this elsewhere but there it has been a long standing tradition to not hold US presidents accountable for the shitty things they do because it sets a precedent for enforcing accountability. I think this will go on as long as the status quo stands.

      Yes, It is unlikely dotard will be punished.

      The system has rewarded wreckers in the past such as Newt gingrich, Ted Cruz who helped reduce social spending through their wrecking. Maybe large sections of the bourgeois still like Dotard due to his huge tax cuts. Future politicians may see benefits to their career by engaging in similar wrecking, potentially destabilizing the USA further

    If they do not punish pro-democracy activist and washington critic Donald Trump, they will be inviting future attempts to overthrow the US government. Looks like he will escape senate impeachment but later see if he gets imprisoned for the Stormy Daniels nonsense.
