Whether or not this strategy is an effective one that takes into consideration the needs of poor and working people is still an open question.

it doesn’t, as proven by what immediately follows:

The federal eviction moratorium is now extended through the end of March. The pause on student loan payments has been extended through September, although this falls short of the demand for Biden to use his executive authority to cancel student debt.

as if extending the eviction moratorium by two months will help that many people. what about the millions who are still jobless? what about the 140,000 women who just lost their jobs last month? what are people who have months of rent due going to do? will they magically have enough money? certainly not with the measly $1800 in tax credits received that has already been spent.

“falls short” is a huge understatement.

In addition, if progressive people and organizations adopt a non-confrontational posture then fascistic forces have a greater opportunity to establish a monopoly on opposition to the Biden government. This would be especially disastrous in the wake of the Jan. 6 fascist-led assault on the Capitol. Now is not the time to ease up in the fight.

great point. and particularly important in helping to grow the left. workers know something is wrong and they need to find the answer before being sucked in by the right.
