The only things the Union Jack looks good on are the coffins of British troops.

Sorry for shitting on your meme, but I think this sets a bad precedent. Encouraging this kind of behaviour amongst British comrades doesn’t help them to reach the British people, win their trust and inculcate them with a revolutionary political consciousness. Instead encouraging this kind of behaviour alienates and marginalises them from the masses.

As Marxists we recognise that the content of all media has a political nature. So what is the political content of this meme? It openly denigrates the national identity of the British peoples in a reductive fashion, including apolitical aspects of said identity, such as the widespread popularity of football and hot beverages. What does this achieve? Our predecessors in the socialist movement have already conclusively highlighted the importance of the national question, and the special care that we need to take in approaching this issue, so why do we go to lengths to mock vast swathes of people, the overwhelming majority of whom are of a proletarian background? What function would this serve for our movement if this kind of behaviour became fashionable amongst British comrades; to mock the working class and their way of life? It wouldn’t win their support, that’s for sure.
