Whether it’s antisemitic or not, I mean, who really cares, that’s kind of the point we were discussing earlier. You can hate Jews or not hate Jews, I don’t really mind. What I do mind is when people violate the law, and that’s why this commission is so important. So, hate Jews, think they control the banks, think they have horns, I mean, go for it—I don’t mean you, but one can go for it.
I am just dumbfounded right now. Normally Herzlians like to LARP as antiracist activists and pretend that they’re leading the fight against antisemitism, but this guy was careless enough to let the mask slip and admit that he doesn’t really mind it. It has to be one of the most honest statements that a Herzlian has said in a very long time.
Not that his word is all of the evidence that we have: when Elon Musk gave a fascist salute, when Donald Trump referred to loan sharks as ‘Shylocks’, and when the Ukrainian government hired men sporting White supremacist symbols, Herzlians showed their true colors when they looked at all of them, shrugged their shoulders, and quietly said ‘Oh well.’
While I can appreciate Shabbos Kestenbaum’s brief moment of truthfulness, choosing not to care about antisemitism really disturbs me. I can understand why it doesn’t keep every Jew up all night since there are many people fortunate enough to live in tolerant areas and, quite frankly, antisemitism just isn’t the overwhelming terror that it once was, but consciously choosing not to care about either utterly baffles me considering that it very much remains a vice of White supremacist terrorists. I would never flippantly suggest that ‘one can go for’ that; I take antisemitism seriously, and I am someone who draws a fine distinction between its 1940s and 2020s variants.
I keep getting the same YouTube recommends as people in Lemmygrad.
