Whenever I cut, I notice that for the first two weeks I won’t be losing fat, without fail.

I’ve been trying to find the science behind this phenomenon (what happens, why, and what you can do to possibly speed this up), but nothing shows up.

Does anyone have any sources to share about this phenomenon?

As a biochemist by education I vaguely remember one of my lecturers talking about this phenomenon in depth for like 3 lectures, but sadly I can’t remember what the explanation was :(

It was around the time we were discussing insulin/glucagon and the various biochemical pathways that they influence. She set us a question asking us to explain why someone counting their calories actually gained weight rather than lost it. I’m sorry I can’t tell you off the top of my head. If I can find the time I’ll flip through my old textbook and see if the answers in there!

That would be great if you can look! From my reading I remember articles talking about glucagon but not conclusively either. I’m not sure of the interaction it has in regards to losing fat mass :grinning face with sweat:
