    The law requires topics to be taught impartially. The lawmakers are being asked how that might be done, and the lawmakers can’t answer.

    The concepts that teachers must not “include” or “promote” in K-12 education are also preposterously vague. Among them are the notion that an individual should feel “discomfort” or “guilt” solely due to her race and the idea that one race is superior to another. The promotion of “division,” whatever that means, is also banned.

    I guess this means you just avoid any and all divisive topics like slavery and civil rights because some white kid might feel like they’re part of the collective guilt of this nation towards black people. Huge swaths of American history must be avoided. I don’t even know how you would begin to teach the Civil War.
