Do you think it’s big enough? What part of the city, town, or rural area do you live in?

I have an interest in urban planning and building design. Curious about other people’s living conditions.

I live in a two-story three-bedroom townhome with my parents and grandfather, so four people in total. This is in a relatively suburban area of Vancouver, Canada, with a mix of detached houses, townhomes, and some apartments. The general consensus in my family was that it was pretty comfortable when only my parents and I lived in it, felt a teeny bit cramped when my grandfather moved in, and somewhat problematic during the height of the pandemic when both my dad and I had to work and study from home respectively, since we didn’t have a dedicated office room. Still, I’m extremely thankful for it and fully knowledge that it’s a pretty privileged living situation, and many people have much less.

I live in a two-room (one being my bathroom) apartment in a less-urban part of a big German city. The rent is pretty much average for the area and it is near my university. What I like is how how cozy it feels; larger flats always seem so empty and cold when you’re single.

750ish square feet, two people and a little dog, and it was perfect…before the pandemic

180 sqft tiny house, just me living in it, and it’s quite comfortable for a programmer. All of my amenity were covered and I’m just waiting for Star Link to become publicly available for my property rent to go from $200/mo to $0/mo when I could park anywhere and have internet. My monthly expenses is less than $800/mo, so I could quite literally work minimum wage and be self-sufficient.

I moved from a small city apartment (maybe 50sqm) to an old country house, about 240sqm. I’ve had partners here and there but mostly it’s me and my cat.

I was inspired by the Solarians from Asimov’s Foundation series - currently working on the fleets of robots to cater to my whims.

Certainly came in useful during 2020 with the pandemic and lockdowns, with the nearest neighbours being 500m away as well.
