Just to let everyone know, I banned a few users from /c/anarchism for posting CIA propo about china from BBC, MSN, Atlantic, accusing people of homophobia with zero evidence, and shitting up /c/all.

The issue is we’re trying to be non-sectarian and allowed Anarchists to also have a space where they’re equally free from Reddit’s moderation, but as is too common online, we’re getting more internet anarchists than actual anarchists, and that doesn’t really help much.

Yep this. I know I’m sounding like a broken record, but I do want anarchists to have a space here, I’d just prefer it be oriented towards organizing against fascism and criticizing western capitalist dictatorships, and stay clear of CIA propo about China, VZ, Russia.

I’m also up a community vote on mod policies regarding sectarianism, and anything else.

If so then why not just direct them to a general socialist sub for any kind of leftists to post in? I don’t really see the point of having anarchist subs if the content that’s allowed to be posted there are decided by Marxist-Leninists which has a lot of disagreements with anarchists and vice versa, especially regarding states that MLs critically support such as China.

Not to self-promo here, but I made /c/leftism as a neutral ground for basically that reason (among others).

So then the question is how we handle the discussion/vote on this issue, and who can participate. Would be cool if something like this could be implemented directly in Lemmy, but I understand if that is too much effort (and takes too much time).

Maybe a first step would be an option to limit certain threads only to members of a community. For the vote we could use upvote count on comments, or an external site.

One of my other projects is a voting / polling site, we used it occasionally on LSC to do internal mod polls. You can see the list of everyone who voted, and you have an option to have the actual votes anonymous. There are also settings for turning on / off user input (users can add questions and options to polls)

            Here’s an example.

Thats cool! The weighed voting seems complicated and confusing, especially with that many options. But maybe it makes more sense in a real poll.

I added an example for the approval type voting in there now, its best for yes/nos, the olympic score / range voting is better for multiple option polls.

I understand but it should be noted that after the West engineered economic collapse in Yugoslavia they spent a huge propaganda campaign on the ‘evil serbs ethnic cleansing’.

As a prelude to bombing serb hospitals, bridges, schools, the chinese embassy and dropping depleted uranium on them for refusing to give up their socialist system

In regard to propaganda against China they are following that exact playbook with their ‘concentration camps’ ( whilst the US starves 7 million Yemenese )

Given prominent yankees (Bannon) have promised war with China within 5 years this should be viewed as war propaganda by the US

I think the stakes regarding anti Chinese propaganda should be looked at in this light imho

What would you define as an “internet anarchist” as opposed to an “actual anarchist?”
