Comrades, I have a good friend who’s in need of some history books. Specifically he knows nothing about British empire, russian empire and Mongolian empire.

Is there anything y’all can recommend?

Cannot emphasize this enough, we really need to meet americans where they are at and considering the literacy rates, their hatred of reading conditioned by gen ed, and the freetime it takes to read–something famously absent under capitalist systems (among many other factors) --trying to get americans to read is a Sisyphean task. Frankly, video essays, podcasts, and, if absolutely necessary, audiobooks are infinitely better for holding their attention while also being able to be played while working

Told a coworker to read a page from Lenin today, he said he’d read it later but who knows lol. I’m guilty of it too, I have so many things I’ve saved to read for later and end up forgetting
