I don’t think it should exist, it’s an artifact of the dissolution of the Soviet Union. The Moldovan border made sense then, it doesn’t make sense now. I’m Romanian and even i think it should just be reincorporated back into Russia. Preferably not as an exclave like Kaliningrad but as part of a contiguous Russian Black Sea coast once they retake Odessa. The Dniester is a good natural border between Russia and Romania. In exchange for Moldova (or a future united Romania-Moldova) giving up claims to it the Russians should give the Moldovans everything currently Ukrainian that is west of the river, aka the Budjak. Honestly they would come out ahead, Pridnestrovie is much more industrially developed than the Budjak which is frankly mostly empty steppe wasteland.

The one thing i know for sure is it can’t be Ukrainian, the people living there are clearly Russian and want nothing to do with Ukraine, especially this Nazi Ukraine that wants to erase everything Russian from existence.
