From what I’ve read he didn’t really make any positive impact on soviet agriculture and in many ways set it back by many years. As well as his rejection of genetics and science based agriculture. I will admit, I haven’t really done enough reading on Soviet biology to know for sure but this analysis on Lysenkoism by Lewontin and Levins seems like a good place to start.
