How can you even think that is a possibility after the wave of anti imperialists that are under power?

Absolutely mind blowing stuff to be honest. Really shows that US admin is living on another planet.

Either that or they know who will say no and can use it as additional justification for attacking those governments in the future. Most likely through more obvious and aggressive coup backing.

I’m sure they’ll try, but at this point it’s going to be hard to do given that most of Latin America is starting to form into a bloc.

Latin America is unfortunately not so united, while positive steps are being taken, the reality is that we’ve previously had greater integration with the UNASUR only to see it largely dismantled in the period between the last pink tide era and whatever we are calling this new wave of left wing governments in the region.

That’s true but US is far less powerful today and it’s starting to lose its grip on the empire. Ukraine is draining US resources at record pace, and they’re still trying to start shit with China while their projects in Middle East and Africa are collapsing. Getting Latin America back in line might just be beyond their grasp at this point.
