I often notice people discussing the (supposedly only potential) existence of chemical weapons in Ukraine. I’ve learned not to trust everything I see in front of me, so I want some concrete proof of such a bold claim.

Speaking of bold claims about Ukraine, does anyone have a “masterpost” for the Russia-Ukraine conflict? I just wanna read more about it through a Marxist-Leninist perspective.

I haven’t actively researched this story, but these two did cross my path over the past few days. The first explains that the claim originated from a bogus conspiracy theory, and the second debunks some supposed evidence that has been presented towards the claim. (The second one has a strong “anti-tankie” vibe, but if you can stomach that, it’s a pretty well-researched video overall.)

As of right now, I don’t have any “good” sources that would be in favor of the theory. If there are any, they would need to debunk the above two links in their entirety.

Vice is anticommunist propaganda, its owned by Disney. Just look at the trash “reporting” they did on the “uyghur genocide” and the Cuba protests.

Bro seriously? How does their bias affect the facts that they’ve reported on? Or do you have actual evidence showing that the biolabs story did not in fact originate from a QAnon dumpster? And there’s no need to cite Nuland, I’ve heard about it, the existence of those labs is public knowledge. Whether they actually contain biological weapons is unknown as of yet.

Its not about bias, its about dishonesty. They reported the uyghur genocide as fact, when its literally a pack of lies. The title of that documentary? “Inside the worlds most dystopian place” in reference to Xinjiang, yes very unbiased. Even worse, they claim Cuba is a “repressive police state” and claimed that in Cuba its illegal to film the beaches and sea, which is literally false. To prove this last point, they went so far as to fabricate a supposed interaction with a cuban cop that was threatening them because they filmed the beaches. This cop was never seen on camera nor heard in the audio, its literally the reporter just pretending shes talking to someone and then claiming they “threatened” them. In a new “report” on Afghanistan they show the mass starvation and blame it on the Talibans “bad economic policies”, not on the US stealing 7 BILLION dollars from the afghan government. There is also 0 mention of US war crimes in Afghanistan or US funding of religious extremists there in the 80s, which literally created the Taliban. Vice, when it comes to US enemy countries, is pure propaganda, as all corporate media is.

I just watched the Loner Box video and it’s so western apologetic. Painting US funding as “just foreign aid” when foreign aid has a history of being weaponised was very sketchy. Also the whole “Kremlin manipulating the media!!!” with absolutely zero perspective on how the western media is accusing Russia of doing exactly what they do all the fucking time. Also it uses this broad liberal idea of imperialism being “big country builds influence” and not the stricter, more useful analysis of Lenin.

But that just sounds like shifting the blame now. Both sides can be guilty of the same thing, and just because that one side is heavily biased doesn’t mean that their own sources that they present are bunk too. By all means, we can investigate these claims ourselves, there’s no need for Vice to spoon-feed us a prepared narrative.

Also yeah, its not imperialism per se, but it still has a strategic / economical motive, ie. a motive beneficial to Russia. Why would Russia launch a war, if it had nothing to gain? And for the record, I don’t buy the idea that they’re just trying to level the odds. No one is automatically this nice and polite, especially not bourgeois nation-states. When Russia becomes a communist state again, then perhaps it will become more believable.

For now, I don’t think the evidence for biological warfare research in Ukraine amounts to anything. Though if a secret facility does exist somewhere that no one has discovered yet, then that would be quite the coincidence.

I don’t really understand your response because I generally agree with you I was just pointing how pro-west the videos is, doesn’t mean russia is free from propaganda or economic interests in war (for the matter I’m really not well researched enough so I don’t want to affirm anything)
